Blood And Fire - The Music of the Indigo Girls with special guest DJ MJ!

Amy Ray and Emily Sailers met in elementary school during some rare conjunction of the moon and stars. Blessed with a mandate of heaven to bring their alt-country take on folk-pop to the masses, they self-produced the seminal Strange Fire in 1987. By 1988 they had a major contract which brought their music to a broader audience. While the press consistently made hay about the duo’s sexual orientation the quality of the song writing spoke for itself. They were more than just a novelty act, and as their album sales, constant touring, musicianship, and enduring cultural impact can attest, their harmonies and message ripple far beyond the confines of identity. Gay, straight, male or female, the Indigo Girls managed to make the personal universal.

Join me, Thee Secret Chief, and special guest host and Indigo Girls super fan host from PRISM Queer Dance party DJ MJ as we do a deep dive into one of the most influential and unsung heroes of music! The Indigo Girls!
